January 31, 2004: Storm clouds over Sweep town

Tonight, I am making up fliers soliciting riding partners. I'm going to put them in various places along the coast and hope that I get a couple of nibbles. With Bonzai and Romulus on the temporary DL with childs #2 for each due in the next month, they don't expect to see much ride time for a while. Need to get some more riders on the Sweep team or the 24-hour race season could be in jeopardy.

Installed some new 660mm Easton MonkeyLite carbon fiber bars on the Hoo-E. Maybe the extra width will make it a little more stable for me. New Ritchey grips too. Oooh, new grips, yeah.

FrankenKlein is coming down tomorrow for a little pre-Super Bowl ride. Originally, we were going to ride over the San Pedro pass into Pacifica and back, but we might not have time, so we'll just head toward McNee and see how much we can get in. With the nasty headwinds we had today, the cloying gumbo mud, and FrankenKlein time, that may not be too much.
